Uniswap Labs opens wallet extension for 11 blockchains
Uniswap wallet users can now access the storage solution on a Google-powered browser, similar to other self-custodial tools like MetaMask.
After more than six months of waiting, Uniswap Labs has opened public access to its wallet browser extension on Google Chrome. The tool was first announced in February, and over 793,000 users joined the waitlist.
According to Uniswap Labs, the entity behind Ethereum’s largest decentralized exchange (DEX), users can execute on-chain activities like token swaps via the wallet browser extension on 11 supported networks. While it’s unknown if the company will extend wallet support to other blockchains, the current offerings include Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Blast, BNB Chain, Celo, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Zora Network, and ZKsync.
The DEX builder and wallet provider now operates two solutions with massive user demand. Not only does the crypto storage option have nearly one million users, but Uniswap’s DEX also ranks as the top decentralized trading venue with $2.4 billion in daily trading volume and $5.6 billion in total value locked.

Uniswap hones in on crypto wallet wars
Wallet providers are shipping out new features and offerings this year as blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies command the global spotlight.
On July 11, Coinbase launched a unified platform for managing Coinbase Wallets and on-chain portfolios to simplify on-chain investment. Jack Dorsey-founded Block also partnered with payment company MoonPay to power Bitcoin (BTC) purchases using major payment methods.
MetaMask integrated Blockaid security for better threat prevention and announced direct validator staking, allowing users to run their Ethereum validator nodes and earn rewards. The developments suggest growing competition between wallet providers to field the best features to capture the next billion web3 users and lead the charge for mass adoption.
