Shiba Inu Lead Pushes Web3 Solutions like Shibarium in Response to CrowdStrike Global Outage
Shytoshi Kusama, the enigmatic leader of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has seized upon the recent CrowdStrike global outage to advocate for Web3 solutions, such as Shibarium, to decentralize critical infrastructure.
On July 19, a widespread technology failure brought flights to a standstill, crippled payment systems, and disrupted healthcare services. Moreover, it blocked access to Microsoft services. Experts are calling the development one of the most catastrophic IT failures on record.
Meanwhile, the root cause of the disruptions was traced back to a malfunctioning software update by CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm that provides services to multiple industries. The flawed update wreaked havoc on Windows-operated computers, resulting in far-reaching tech failures worldwide.
Shiba Inu Lead Reacts
In the aftermath of this event, the Shiba Inu team has capitalized on the opportunity to stress the significance of decentralization. They highlight the need to move away from reliance on centralized services and towards more resilient, community-driven solutions.
In a recent post on X, Kusama lamented that the far-reaching impact of a single flawed update highlights the need for a new global operating system.
The Shiba Inu leader believes the world needs a system that eschews reliance on a central authority, embraces decentralization, and harnesses the power of Web3 technologies fundamentally designed to withstand the Friday disruptions.

Furthermore, Kusama stated that the current situation is precisely why the Shiba Inu team advocates for people to “Treat Themselves” during their global tour.
He noted that the tour transcends mere token promotion. Instead, it focuses on a paradigm shift from the traditional Web2 standard to a more elevated level of engagement that offers security and innovation for customers, stakeholders, and individuals.
Kusama Proposes Web3 Solution: Shibarium
Kusama noted that, fortunately, the Shiba Inu community’s decentralized network of innovators and enthusiasts has been busy developing solutions during the bear market. He stressed that these solutions are specifically designed to mitigate the impact of catastrophic events like this global outage.
Notably, the Shiba Inu team launched its native blockchain Shibarium in August 2023. This blockchain has seen significant adoption in less than a year, recording over 417 million transactions. Moreover, Shibarium boasts an average block time speed of 5.0 seconds.
Besides, Shibarium has forged significant partnerships to improve the global tech space. In April, the Shiba Inu team joined the Content Delivery and Security Association (CDSA) to address AI-driven content challenges for members like Apple, Amazon, and Netflix through Shibarium.
As the world grapples with the devastating consequences of CrowdStrike infrastructure failure, the Shiba Inu ecosystem aims to be at the forefront of the conversation to champion the vision of a Web3-powered future.
