Avalanche Announces Most Significant Network Upgrade Since Mainnet Launch
Avalanche has announced a major blockchain upgrade as the high-performance platform sets its sights on future growth within the crypto ecosystem. The Avalanche development team has announced the launch of the upcoming Avalanche9000, calling it the “biggest network upgrade” since the platform’s mainnet launch in September 2020. The official blog post notes that Avalanche9000 will be available on testnet soon.
The Avalanche blockchain is highly scalable and adaptable, allowing developers to efficiently develop and deploy decentralized applications (dApps) while benefiting from fast transactions and low costs. The launch of Avalanche9000 aims to expand the capabilities of the network while providing a robust ecosystem that leverages the combination of Avalanche’s extensive Layer 1 (L1) network, primary chain, and cross-chain messaging. The primary chain, C-Chain, will act as the economic and foundational node of the network, ensuring uninterrupted liquidity flows across L1.
Developers can use the pre-built tools available in C-Chain for each new Avalanche L1, simplifying the integration of infrastructure and tools. According to Avalanche, C-Chain will continue to evolve through continuous research and development to improve developer productivity and convenience.
