In 2024, Binance honored Selçuk Aydın with the prestigious Social Advocate Award for his groundbreaking work in making cryptocurrency accessible to the hearing impaired.

A passionate crypto advocate, Aydin created the world’s first crypto-dedicated YouTube channel and Telegram group for Turkish deaf users, where he simplifies complex cryptocurrency concepts through Turkish Sign Language.

Aydin’s YouTube channel features videos explaining everything from basic crypto concepts to the intricacies of Binance’s tools and features in sign language.

Using visuals from Binance Academy, Aydin’s channel is a first-of-its-kind resource designed to help the hearing impaired easily navigate the rapidly evolving world of digital assets.

In addition to his YouTube work, Aydin also runs a Telegram group called Binance Turkish Sign Language, which has around 1,500 members.

The group serves as a hub for deaf users to support each other and ask questions about the Binance platform and crypto trading.

Aydin and his team act as intermediaries who help translate user questions and resolve issues with Binance’s customer service.

Aydin, who is deaf himself, has been a driving force in the community for the past three years, helping to bridge the gap between the deaf community and the crypto space.

Binance Türkiye Marketing Director Harika Eldoğan praised Aydın’s efforts and said:

“Selçuk Aydın’s work is invaluable. He has made a significant impact by creating content that explains the Binance ecosystem to the hearing impaired in Turkey, and we are proud to reward his efforts.”

Aydin’s cryptocurrency journey, like many others, began in 2013 with curiosity sparked by conversations with friends. While exploring the world of digital assets, he realized there was a huge gap: there were no resources specifically designed for the hearing impaired.

Determined to make the space more inclusive, she launched efforts to create accessible content and support for the deaf community.
